How Sonia Stopped Carrying the Whole Family Schedule in Her Head

“I Just Didn't Want to Be Asked About Everything.”

Sonia J.
Mom of 3 · Ogdensburg, NEW YORK

Q: Tell us a little about your family.

Sonia: “It's me, my husband, and our three kids. So, as you can imagine, there's always something going on—school, sports, appointments, activities, dinners, you name it.”

Q: What was family scheduling like before Everblog?

Sonia: “Honestly, I felt like I was the one who had to know everything.

My husband would ask, ‘What time is soccer?’ One of the kids would ask, ‘When are we leaving?’ Someone would ask what we had planned for the weekend.

I usually knew the answer, but I'd have to stop what I was doing, grab my phone, check the calendar, and tell them.”

Q: Did that bother you?

Sonia: “The questions themselves weren't a big deal. It was the feeling that everyone was relying on me to keep track of everything.

I didn't want to be the person everyone had to come to just to know what was happening.”

Q: What did you want instead?

Sonia: “I wanted the schedule to be something the whole family could see. If it's Tuesday and my son has practice at 5, I shouldn't have to be the only person who knows that.

Everyone should be able to check for themselves.”

Q: How does Everblog fit into that?

Sonia: “We keep Everblog in the kitchen, so it's really easy for everyone to see.

The kids can check what's happening that day. My husband can see what's coming up. And if something changes, we can update it without having to tell everyone individually.”

Q: What's the biggest difference for you?

Sonia: “I don't feel like I'm carrying everyone's schedule in my head anymore.

We're still busy. There are still three kids running in three different directions.

But now, when someone asks, ‘What's happening today?’ I can just say, ‘Check Everblog.’”
